The Welcome Pack: Prepare for Your Arrival (Spring 2024)

Subject line: Countdown to LOYNO!

The spring semester starts next week! Let’s run through a few important steps to make sure you’re ready for your big arrival at LOYNO. You’ll be running with the Wolf Pack in no time.

Complete Your Online Orientation

Finish your mandatory online orientation modules by this Friday, January 12, 2024, to have your orientation registration hold lifted. You’ll learn about important topics, including life in New Orleans, Student Life & Ministry, academic information, and much more. Consider this your first assignment to introduce you to all things LOYNO!

Complete Your Registration Agreement & Emergency Contact

You are required to add your Emergency Contact information and complete the Registration Agreement in LORA Self-Service no later than January 15, 2024. Students who fail to submit an emergency contact/registration agreement before the start of the semester may risk being dropped from their courses. Log into LORA Self-Service and find the “User Options” dropdown in the menu to complete both steps.

Just Ask Me Table

Be sure to stop by the One Loyola Room on the first floor of the Danna Student Center on January 16–17, 2024, to say hi to the Krewe Leaders and ask any questions that come up as you get settled at Loyola. We can also connect you with resources, and we’ll be handing out swag bags for incoming students!

Submit Your Immunizations

Submit immunization documentation no later than January 15. Print the Proof of Immunization Compliance Form, have it completed and signed by your physician or treatment provider, and follow the instructions on the form to submit your documentation on the Public Health Portal. For questions about your immunization requirements, please email immunization@ngskmc-eis.net.

Get Your Parking Permit

Loyola Parking Services is looking forward to a new semester with you in it! All students who are enrolled in on-campus classes for the upcoming academic year and who wish to park on campus must purchase a virtual parking permit. Once completed, your license plate will be used as your permit to park on campus, so you won’t need to pick up a physical permit for your vehicle to gain authorized parking access.

You can order your permit online in just a few easy steps!

  • Log in through the Single Sign On (SSO) portal
  • Click on the “Parking Services” option in your SSO Apps
  • Select the “Permit” button in the top left hand corner of the page
  • Follow the steps on the screen to add the permit to your cart and checkout
  • Once you complete the application, you will receive an automated email which lists the information you provided
  • The application requires 3-5 business days for processing
  • Once your application is processed, you will receive a second email informing you that your permit is active, listing the location and hours valid, if applicable

In order to have a virtual permit, you must be enrolled in classes for the semester and show current vehicle registration, no exceptions. Contact our department if you have any questions or concerns.

Keep Your Bicycle Safe

If you will be using a bicycle on campus, it must be registered with the Loyola University Police

Department. Register your bike for free by following these steps:

  1. Once you arrive on campus, stop by the police department entrance at Biever Hall and scan the bicycle registration QR code posted on the front door.
  2. You will need to provide the serial number of the bicycle, which is stamped into the frame. You can also add a photo, which we strongly recommend so that we can identify your bicycle if it is lost or stolen.
  3. Once your bicycle is registered, you will be able to return to the police department at Biever Hall to collect a registration sticker for your bicycle.
  4. Finally, update your bicycle’s online profile with the registration number of the sticker that you just applied to the bicycle.

We ask that you use a hardened bicycle lock, such as a u-lock, and secure it to a bicycle rack on campus. Bicycles should not be secured to railings, fences, or other stationary objects. Any bicycle found in violation may be impounded. If you have any questions, or need assistance with the bicycle registration process, contact Sergeant Patrick Martin at pjmartin@ngskmc-eis.net or ask for assistance at the police department.

Order Your Textbooks

Make sure you order your textbook now so they are available for the first day of class! Go to the Bookstore Website and search for your books, or use the Course Finder to search for books using your course information. All textbooks will be shipped to your off-campus address or to the bookstore, per your instructions. Make sure you have your box number if you come to the bookstore to pick up your order.

Have questions? Please reach out to the Loyola Bookstore via email at sm8275@bncollege.com.
